Funerals and Memorials

One of the things that led me to become a celebrant was losing my father suddenly to cancer in 2003.

My family took such comfort and positive memories from his funeral service, which we thought was quite beautiful and a very fitting farewell to a much-loved and respected man within our family and the wider community.  I wrote the eulogy and spoke at his funeral.  For me this was a way of presenting him with a final parting gift and a thank you for all he'd been and done in my life.

I take this same belief into every funeral that I conduct.  My aim is to work with the family to write a beautiful, dignified and meaningful farewell for their loved one and create a celebration of their life.  I want to provide a little ray of sunshine in an otherwise heartbreaking and dismal day, leaving the family with special memories and positive thoughts.

My ceremonies are non-religious, however, I am certainly happy for family members and friends to share religious readings.
